This 3,500 square foot residence is nestled between the trees east of the Interstate as this owner’s country-modern lifestyle can grow with his family. The home is designed as a split floor plan consisting of a children’s bedroom wing complete with play room, a central Great room, and a master bedroom suite all overlooking a private lake. The entry progression begins with a meandering gravel drive through a heavily wooded private entry. The home reveals itself as a Royal palm orchard marches towards the wood clad entry feature. The poplar wood was treated with a new technique called ‘thermally treated’. The wood is heated until it begins to char. The charring heat strengthens the wood and makes it resistant to moisture and rot as well as a termite repellant with the charred smell. This special wood was clad to steel ‘I’ beams at the front entry and the covered rear porch to add a rustic countrified design to a modern home. Thermally treated poplar was also used as window surrounds to contrast against the white walled modern shell.

Passing through the custom built wood entry door, visitors are greeted with warm touches of tasteful art, bright white kitchen cabinetry, light colored wood flooring and a cozy stone clad fireplace. The kitchen island features a quartz countertop with a custom concrete bartop with waterfall edge. Above the island, the ceiling slopes up to south facing clerestory windows as linear LED strip lights wash over the matching wood colored ceiling. The clerestory windows are centered over sliding glass doors to bring the wooded surroundings inside and the entertainment outside. The rear entertainment area features a large pool and spa, a wide open yard for the children to play, and an unobstructed vista onto a sunset reflecting private lake.
