Heron House Interiors

Longboat Key, FL

Built in 2020

This coastal inspired home was designed for a Princeton client that wanted a Florida escape for the family during the harsh winters. They requested that the inside of the home reflect the surroundings. The Sarasota Bay home built in the 90s needed anoverhaul. New finishes were placed throughout keeping only the original structures frame untouched.

The color palette throughout was chosen from the colors seen while walking along the beach. Warm tan replicating the color of sand, all different shades of blue like the water depending upon the depth. As well as crisp white like the waves crashing out at sea.

The coastal design is apparent in the fish accessories and the turtle artwork, but it was in the forefront of the design all the way down to the anchor cabinet knobs on the powder bath teal vanity cabinet.

The formal living room creates a symmetrical balance by mirroring the furniture and leading your eye to focus on the stunning views of the water. The family room located off the kitchen needed to seat as many people as possible for those game days. Additional seating was added behind the large sectional with a couple of sofa tables and ottomans that could be tucked out of the way when not in use
